There’s something genuinely special about finding a roaster that just gets what good coffee should be—welcoming, unpretentious, and consistently delicious. For us, that’s exactly what we’ve found in award-winning Leaping Goat Coffee.

Located in Devonport, Tasmania, Leaping Goat has quietly built a loyal following by doing things the right way: sourcing thoughtfully, roasting with care, and focusing on coffees people actually want to drink every day. There’s no ego here—just a clear love for coffee and the people who drink it.

After changing ownership in 2021, Leaping Goat has grown in leaps and bounds. They now operate 2 cafes (aptly named 'Little Goat') alongside their roastery/cafe and have established themselves as one of the premier coffee roasters in Tasmania.

But while their presence and output have increased, their approach to roasting truly amazing coffee has not - as evidenced by their recent awards at both the Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards and the Golden Bean Awards. 

What we really appreciate about Leaping Goat is how approachable their coffees are. Every cup feels familiar in the best possible way—comforting chocolate notes, a gentle sweetness, and just the right touch of brightness to keep things interesting. It’s the kind of coffee you keep coming back to, whether it’s your morning espresso or a slow weekend brew.

Behind the scenes, it’s all about consistency and craftsmanship. Small-batch roasting means they can give each coffee the attention it deserves, bringing out flavours that feel balanced and honest rather than overworked. You can tell there’s real care in every step—from green bean selection right through to the final roast.
